On July 1st, 2025, the Directorate of International Cooperation at the University of Juba hosted teachers and pupils from ABC Progressive School for an educational tour. The group received a warm welcome from Professor Milton Melingasuk Lado, Director of International Cooperation, who delivered a brief introduction to the University of Juba. He informed the visitors that Ms. Ann Poni James, Public Relations Assistant, would deliver a PowerPoint presentation providing detailed information about the University.

Furthermore, Ms. James shared information about the university’s teaching facilities, such as lecture halls and laboratories. The presentation concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
Following the presentation, the tour guide team from the Department of Public Relations, under the Directorate of International Cooperation, led the pupils and teachers on a guided tour of the university premises. This marked the conclusion of the planned educational tour.
Mr. Julius Rosuk, Head Teacher of ABC Progressive School, expressed his sincere gratitude to the University of Juba’s administration and the tour team for accommodating their visit request. He also praised the university staff for their warm hospitality and the informative nature of the tour, which offered both pupils and teachers a valuable opportunity to learn about the university’s academic environment and resources.
At the University of Juba, such initiatives reflect one of our core commitments – community outreach and engagement. Educational tours for primary and secondary school pupils/students provide early exposure to higher education, inspiring academic ambition and raising career awareness. These visits help young learners connect their current studies with future goals, particularly benefiting those from under-resourced backgrounds. By interacting with university staff and accessing academic facilities, pupils/students are encouraged to cultivate curiosity, develop personal aspirations, and gain valuable role models. Moreover, such activities strengthen the bond between the University of Juba and the broader community it serves.
