On September 6, 2021, Prof. John A. Akec on behalf of University of Juba signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Prof. Paul S. Laivani of Empower Swiss SARL.
The purpose of this agreement is to establish the understanding between the two parties (University of Juba and Empower Swiss SARL) to jointly explore the partnership in the area of capacity building and change management for supply chain, LMIS activities and other areas of mutual interests.
University of Juba is a Public University located in Juba, South Sudan, founded in 1975 in response to the need for higher education in Southern areas of Sudan. Due to the Second Sudanese Civil War (1983 – 2005), the University relocated to Khartoum, for safety of staff, students and infrastructure.
First colleges include: Education, Economics, Medicine, Natural Resources and Environmental Studies and Medicine by 1982. The University gives instruction in the English language. Student population is about 24,000 and 150 programs. We have 17 schools, 3 institutes, 4 centers and Graduate College, Preparatory College, and Kuajok Community College (off the Campus). We are based in Juba downtown, the beautiful and cosmopolitan capital of South Sudan. The University of Juba aims to become a dynamic regional and world-class Centre of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and service to the community by 2030.
